- Chop the kitchen rejects into smaller pieces to increase the surface area of the particles and speed up the process. Drain out the extra moisture, if any.
- Keep the rejects and cocopeat ratio at 3:1 with a handful of dry leaves thrown in.
- Mix all these ingredients along with EXCELERATOR. It works faster than layering as the microbes instantly attack the surface and start breaking it down. You cannot go wrong with mixing, but you may end up creating uneven layers sometimes.
- Add dry leaves to create more air pockets. This avoids bad odour issues as composting progresses.
- Dry leaves from different sources also enhances the nutritional bandwidth of the final output.
- Extract the compost tea regularly to avoid odour issues and leakage through the holes given right above the tap.
- Rake up the pile once in a while to allow more aeration.
- Never sun-dry the wet compost. It kills the microbes. Always shade-dry it.
