Description
Compost-Maker Cocopeat Block, 5 kg each
Endlessly Green Block Compost-Maker Cocopeat Brick is very well-processed, low on EC (salt content), high on absorption capacity and performance. It’s light and fluffy. Carbon-rich cocopeat, when mixed with EXCELERATOR Compost Culture, kicks off the process without delay.
Each block weighs 5 kg approximately and expands up to five times or more, and yields about 22-25 kg of cocopeat after expansion.
Process
Soak the brick in about 20 litres of water. Let it soak for 10-12 hours. The brick loosens. Break it down manually. Store it in a box or a bag.
For composting, you can let the cocopeat dry up fully so that it is able to absorb excess moisture from the kitchen waste.
For gardening, you can either use dry or moist cocopeat.
Composting process
Spread a layer of cocopeat at the bottom of your composter and then a layer of kitchen waste mixed with ¼ spoons (per kg) of EXCELERATOR. Repeat the process until the composter is almost full. Leave a couple of inches on top. Top it off with a layer of cocopeat or dry leaves, or both. This prevents fruit flies from accessing the food waste layer.
The microbes begin to act on the food waste instantly and turn it into super-rich manure. What comes out eventually is the nice-smelling compost which is a wonderful soil health enhancer.
Harvest it, sieve it if need be and then let it cure for some more time. It is now ready to nourish your plants!
Benefits
Cocopeat tackles lack of aeration issues, absorbs excess moisture and creates air pockets inside the pile. As a result, you will not face bad odour issue which is basically triggered by excess moisture and lack of aeration.
Well-processed cocopeat withstands compaction and keeps the air pockets protected.
